
I have been thinking about Felice Varini ever since I opened his book in the giftshop at MOPA years ago. I had forgotten his name and somehow remembered it recently! He is known for his geometric perspective paintings of rooms and outdoor spaces. It is a total optical illusion that he creates: from head on, it looks like a geometric object floating in the space, but when you go to a different angle, you see how he paints every surface to create the look by using a projector to guide where he puts the lines.
