Excerpts of Archives from European adventures in 2000-2001: Waiting to be used for my possible upcoming book in the future!
"...My exams went well, and I got good grades. And also had a final portfolio review at the drawing school- that went well! One day my friends and I painted in the outdoor piazza near my house- and whenever you paint or draw in public, you always get people who watch- tons of tourists, so we figured, why not- and made a sign saying ''we are starving art students and thank you for your donation'' we wrote it in English, Italian, Spanish and German- ha, we got 2,000 lira!..."

"...Anyways the next day was a busy one! We got up early, ate breakfast, and headed out to buy some bus tickets- you have to buy them from this guy underground at a table sitting in the trainstation! So then we were off on the bus- went to the Communist Statue Park, back to Buda Hill and went to the underground tunnels, castle and palace with a blown up Skoda..."

"...Bosch, Goya, Velasquez...then we headed for the other museum, 'The Reina Sofia' in there we saw great works by Picasso
and Dali - AWESOME cubism and surrealism..."

"...We climbed to the top of the spires!! Bella! We then headed on the bus to Park Guell, another area by Gaudi, it is this amazing park that overlooks the city- tons of curvy benches- man made caves, pilars, streams alot of mosaics..."

"...We all wore our masks and
even got our face painted, and we saw a waltz dance on this stage which was set up in the main square in front of St. Marco church- wonderful. We had a great meal that night- ravioli, chicken, salad, pizza, dessert...The next day we roamed around, looked in shops and took the boat to Murano...that night we were happy to see the whole square of St. Marco was filled with thousands of people dancing to Austin Powers music, Beach Boys songs etc... there were lights everywhere and the stage was lit up and there was a huge screen up showing people dance..."

"...saw some great works by Scandinavian artists and wonderful sculptures, and then a whole room full of Edvard Munch's work, including the very iconagraphical painting, ''The Cry''(Scream) The interesting thing about it is that that painting is so famous, and in this room, it was just among the other artpieces by him- not with some special glass lazer box around it like some other famous paintings I know about...
There are 3 huge real viking ships
inside!!!! Awesome- they were excavated in the 1800's. It also had some Viking artifacts too. They traveled so far in the cold with these ships- and actually landed in the
Americas WAY before Columbus was even dreamed of!..."

"...So then we were off to Mantova to see the Ducal palace- and inside is a very famous round ceiling painting by Mantegna. We then headed for Palazzo Te where there are great mural paintings inside...We arrived in Padova where we went to the Scovegni Chapel, the best preserved frescos of Giotto's works. The frescos were great- after studying them for years it was awesome to see them in person!"

"...I packed lots of food with my friend at the table and we wrapped it
in linen napkins to take to Pompeii- I knew that there are tons of this scruffy homeless dogs at Pompeii, so I got prepared to feed them...some of them didn't even want food, they just wanted to be pet and get some love..."

"...lots of political posters in Napoli...greek temple ruins in Paestum...
Also Cuma, an awesome archeological site on the coast near Naples. Picture alot of cliffs and caves and dunes with awesome views of the sea. This is the legendary place where the book ''The Aeneid'' by Virgil was suppossed to have taken place... went to the tomb of the poet Virgil, it is right near a tunnel! And then we went to a lake where the earth's crust is thin and the water bubbles warm- this is where Dante is said to get his idea for the entrance of hell in his Divine Comedy... Then that night we ate pizza, RICH pizza with warm ricotta cheese in the fresh crust! And instead of tomato sauce, it had heavy cream and mozzerella..."

"...as the others scattered along the Tiber and into the Castel Sant'Angelo, I instead sat there on the bridge and drew one of the angel statues for an hour. Pigeons flew and rested on almost all of the statues on that bridge. Right now this is one of the most peaceful places in Rome..."

"...We saw famous frescos by Raphael- such as ''The School of Athens'' and looked closely to study them in person because they were on our Art history test the following week! And of course we went to the Sistene Chapel, that glorious ceiling also on our test! Awesome To learn about such great art then go take a 2 hour train down to Rome to ''study'' the real thing! I will MISS that..."
