Our Coronado School of the Arts (CoSA) Animation and Graphic Design students recently collaborated on a "Coronado Summer Safety Booklet" with Coronado's Police Department, Lifeguards and Firefighter Department. The booklet has been distributed to all CUSD schools and also the community just in time for summer.

Student Creates iPhone Game
My CHS 10th grade graphic design student, Eaton Palmieri, created his own original iphone game from scratch: Taco Dodge.
Taco Dodge is a tap to dodge game where you are a super taco and you need to dodge super peppers in order for your survival!
Eaton programmed the game and has been programming (self-taught) since the summer of 2013. After being inspired by the simplicity of the popular game, Flappy Bird, Eaton started programming Taco Dodge over the course of three months.
He then collaborated with fellow CHS 10th grade graphic design student, Austin Linthicum, who designed the graphics for Taco Dodge. Austin created the graphics from scratch, and gave artistic input to the look, color and personality of the artwork.
Eaton plans on creating more games and apps in the near future.

Silhouettes

I took the idea of the traditional profile silhouettes and gave it a contemporary, bright twist. These make a perfect custom gift and are less expensive than a portrait painting. These cameos can be created as a graphic print or as a painting on canvas. They can be done with typography(with words that relate to the subject etc) or a painted scene inside the silhouette.

VAPA Standards Strands Posters
School is beginning and I just finished decorating my classroom/lab. I created these posters of the VAPA Standards Strands so that my students will be familiar with the various strands when we work on each project. These posters are hung in the corners of the classroom and each has an animal mnemonic which I learned at the awesome VAPA training sessions with Ron Jessee, SDCOE VAPA Coordinator, a few years ago! My goal is for them to know these by heart & understand when they are using them! (click image to make larger)

La Jolla Seals
I created this non-profit flyer recently to replace the original San Diego Animal Advocates version.
I also redrew the San Diego Animal Advocates' logo and sent to them to use.
