Spielberg Quote

I am a big fan of Steven Spielberg and just re-watched his appearance on Inside the Actor's Studio. I loved what he said when asked "what is the responsibility of an artist in our society":

“I think the responsibility of an artist is to just get to know themselves really well and to put as much of yourself in your work and not pretend to be somebody else. Don’t try to be somebody you admire…A true artist is somebody who eventually let’s themselves into their work.”

Emerald City Art Show

I, along with other CHS alumni, will have art for sale at this show!
Come on down to Emerald City's FIRST EVER After Hours Art Show this Cinco de Mayo with Coronado High School's Art Dept. and local Alumni to check out some unique art, a live street art performance, and a "customize your own TOMS" live event. There will be refreshments and snacks, as well as art for sale.

Invader has struck San Diego!

Invader has posted his recent work in Little Italy (this image is at the freeway entrance from Grape Street) and a few other locations in downtown San Diego. AWESOME!
"Invader is a French street artist who pastes up characters from and inspired by the Space Invaders game, made up of small coloured square tiles that form a mosaic. He does this in cities across the world, then documents this as an "Invasion", with maps of where to find each invader." -wikipedia

CoSA Digital Media Students Poster

This is a poster I designed of my Digital Media 9th Grade Students' charcoal self portraits. They all did a fantastic job on these! I gave it a pop art effect with the color. If you are interested in purchasing a poster let me know. They are 16"x20" and all proceeds go to the Coronado School of the Arts.
